Ysguborwen has 78 registered beds some with en-suite facilities. There are 3 lifts plus a stairlift for the less mobile residents.

The home has extensive public leisure areas, including two conservatories allowing scenic countryside views and an additional sensory environment  for residents with advanced dementia needs and memory problems.

The home has ample parking and extensive gardens, also residents have their own gardening polytunnel, rabbits and chickens.

TRANSPORT
Visitors transport operates to and from Ysguborwen every Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, arriving at Ysguborwen approximately 2pm and leaving about 4pm. This transport is available to anyone who wants to visit Ysguborwen within the Aberdare area and there is no charge. You will be collected from your home and returned there after visiting. HAIRDRESSING
Beth and Heather visit Ysguborwen and offer a full range of hairdressing every  Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. This is chargeable as extra to fees and arrangements can be made with Cerys or Kayleigh re your preferred method of payment.

TELEPHONES
The home does not have a public payphone, however, it is possible for the resident to have their own telephone in their room; it is their responsibility to contact the relevant telephone companies to arrange installation at their own expense.

RELIGIOUS BELIEFS
Ysguborwen welcomes visits from representatives of many varied religious denominations and these occur on a regular basis. Please discuss personal requirements with the activities staff or your key worker.

CATERING
Our catering department offers a varied, choice menu and special diets are catered for. We pride ourselves on the use of fresh, quality ingredients. Our cooks are readily available to discuss individual preferences and sample menu’s are available. Special buffets, barbecues and ‘themed’ menu events are a regular occurrence and are enjoyed by the residents.

RESIDENTS MEETINGS
These are held by the residents on a monthly basis, usually on the first Friday of the month. Residents can request that a representative of any area of management of the home attend.
